I was hired to build a label for Devil’s Canyon Brewery’s new product, Chaco Stout. This absolutely delicious red chile and chocolate stout, using TCHO Chocolate (from S.F.), was unveiled at the 2015 SF Beer Week Craft Can Invitational. It’s has a great chocolate taste and just a hint of spice. It was well received and it goes into larger scaled production soon.
The concept, was to incorporate the elements of the cave paintings of the Chaco Canyon and the southwest, spice, fire, chocolate and chilies. So, It was a no-brainer to go with a fun take on those cave paintings–Something sacred and something approachable. We could have gone too hard in the direction of “FIRE”, and “SPICE” but it wouldn’t represent this balanced flavor well.

Check out the new iPhone project “SF Heroes” I did the UI & Graphic Design for this project by Cosmicube and for the city of San Francisco’s emergency preparedness dept. They wanted a fun comic book look. which it’s a little retro and a lot bold. So go download the app on iTunes now, and keep an out for the Android version down the road.
Here’s a cute promo video about the app, done by The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management (DEM)
